Celebrate with a difference

It’s December – celebration month! We love sharing healthy celebration tips, however this year we thought rather than focusing on cocktails and canapes, we’d look at different ways to get together and celebrate as a group.

Here are our favourite 5 alternatives to a cocktail party (cosmopolitans are so 2005!).

Scavenger Hunt
Make a list, plan your path, draft your teams and start the clock. A scavenger hunt can be a lot of fun and definitely memorable. Try adding a theme, perhaps a cause, or creative challenges – It will bring out the adventurous and competitive side of everyone for all the more fun.

Make it a bootcamp party
If your group is more the fitness kind, this might be for you. There are plenty of bootcamp groups around Singapore and with marathon season still open you could still join an organised event. Better yet, plan your own or make it a hike – MacRitchie and East Coast are both great destinations to get outside and go for it!

Trade your party and give back
Instead of a party why not put your funds and time into charity this year. There are many organisations in Singapore who will welcome your assistance. The MYMCA, Salvation Army, Red Cross and Touch all provide a variety of programs and missions. Find one that suits your group and sign up.

Get your groove on!
Forget games, races and karoke – get your gear on for a dance party. Start with a class or two in the afternoon then take it to the clubs in the evening for a dance-off! Whatever your co-ordination it might just be your most memorable party yet. Think hip hop, jazz, reggae, and maybe even the newest flavour pole dancing!

Team up and make it a ball!
Love a little sport and some healthy competition? Then choose your game, recruit your team and book the venue. Whether it’s football, paintball or ten pin bowling, nothing says end-of-year like an annual winner takes all game. Grab some team shirts, a mascot and snacks for the game and you’re good to go.
